PHONETICS
Phonetics, the study of speech sounds and their physiological production and acoustic qualities. It deals with the configurations of the vocal tract used to produce speech sounds (articulatory phonetics), the acoustic properties of speech sounds (acoustic phonetics), and the manner of combining sounds so as to make syllables, words, and sentences (linguistic phonetics).

ACCORDING TO EXPERT :
1.
(Chaer 1994:102)
Phonetics is a branch of phonological study
that studies the sound of a language regardless of whether the sounds have a function
of differentiating meaning or not.
2. (Keraf
1984: 30).
Phonetics is the science that
investigates and analyzes the speech sounds used in speech, and learns how to
produce these sounds by means of human speech.
3.
(Kridalaksana, 1995: 56)
Phonetics is the science that investigates
the earning, transmitting, and reception
of sounds of language; Interdisciplinary linguistics with physics, anatomy,
and psychology.
Chaer
(2007) divides the sequence of the process of the sounds of language, into 3
types of phonetics :
1.
Phonetic articulator/ phonetic organism /phonetic physiology.
Studying how the mechanisms of speech-devices
work in producing sounds of language and how they are classified.
(Glenson 1955: 239-256; Malmberg 1963: 21-28).
2 . Acoustic phonetics
Studies the sound of language as a physical
event or a natural phenomenon (the sounds are investigated for their velocity,
aplitudo, and intensity of nature)
(Malberg 1963: 5-20).
C.
Phonetically auditors
>> Learn how the mechanism of acceptance
of the language sounds by our ears.
Kak sri, i wanna ask you what is the different of phonetics and phonology?
BalasHapusDifferent of phonetics and phonology :
HapusPhonetics deals with the production of speech sounds by humans, often without prior knowledge of the language being spoken. Phonology is about patterns of sounds, especially different patterns of sounds in different languages, or within each language, different patterns of sounds in different positions in words etc
Hello kak sri😊, i wanna ask you. Many sounds are the same in English pronunciation. How do you think you handle this?
BalasHapusYou are true that a lot of pronounciation have almost same in english. Such as accept and except, both of them have same pronounciation, and how to handle it,
HapusYou have to understand the sentence and word after and before it..
for example ..
They all have been to bali except me.
And certainly we have to use except, not accept. Because they are have different meaning.
Hello kak, I wanna ask you.
BalasHapusIf phonetic acoustic and auditory phonetics are the same focus on how the sound travels through the air in the form of sound waves and the effects of these waves occur on the ears and brain of the listener.
so why are their names distinguished?
thankyou😊
ok thnks for your question ,
Hapusactually phonetic acoustic and auditors are different ,, phonetic acoustic is related with physical event
and phonetic auditors is mechanism of acceptence of the languange by our ears.
so, they are have different function, not same ,,,
I want to address you a question. How many percent do you think your readers will understand with Phonetic by read this blog?
BalasHapusThanks for your question before .
HapusPhonetics have a lot of discussion and i cannot make it in a video, it will spending a lot of time in a video. And in this video i explained what is phonetic and types of them , that i thought the people who see the video would know what was phonetic actually.
How many percent it is depend their understanding
Why you can't make a video? I'm sure everyone can make a simple and short video tp make people more understand. And if you say that it depends on the people. It seems like you are not responsible enough to teach something.
HapusI have made the video with a duration of 5 minutes. In fact they said my video was too long. I tried to make the video not too long because I was afraid they were bored if watching my video. You said I'm not responsible? The person's understanding is different. Especially if their has difficulty speaking English. But I think if their understands English then their will understand the video that I made it.
HapusI guess watching video about 5 minutes will not get someone bored if its attractive, according to an expert called Traviss bergwall said that students learn better with video, what do you think about that?
HapusYes you're true that if the video is displayed more interesting then it will not make bored. ,
HapusBut if the students learn only use the video , I think it was less condusive, because the students also need approach to teacher in the teaching learning process
Yeah but like i said before 5 minutes video is helpful. You should spare the time wisely when you teach. Not watching video a whole day but, you know just take time.
HapusOk . thanks for your suggestion.
HapusMY PLEASURE
HapusHello.. can you explain about phonetic clearly?
BalasHapusok thanks for question,,,
Hapusin the video u can see about phonetic, if that not clear, i will tell u .
phonetic is a branch of linguistic that study about how to produce the sound...if the sound comes from the human speech,, its named phonetic articulator,,
To be clear, please check link below
Hapushttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phonetics
how to overcome a slurred person to be able to say the right words?
BalasHapusSlurred is an innate birth that can’t be forced to say correctly. So we have to understanding each word that say from slurred person..
Hapusis there no other way?
HapusOf course rico..
Hapusif you force a slurred person to speak correctly it is like forcing a blind person to can see. that's an impossible thing
Hello, i'm wella from indonesian😄
BalasHapusI like your video.. but, can you answer my question, why you choose phonetic?
i choose phonetic because i am curious about phonetic,,, because this name never i heard before.
HapusAnd also phonetics learn about how produced the sound . So i am curious about that . Because we always produced the sound everytime ,but we don't know where the sound was produced actually.
HapusHi kak, I think you should make your blog more complete and not only depends on your video you post here, you can add some explanation and examples from this phonetic study. Make it clear okay :)
BalasHapusOkay . Thank you for comment
HapusI will fix it
HapusGood day Kak Sri, I like your blog... Keep spirit
BalasHapusThankyou boy...
Hapus👍👎...
BalasHapuswhat mean,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,????????//
HapusHello...how do we easily understand phonetics?
BalasHapusyou have to learn a lot and see my video again , and comprehend it,,
HapusAnd study hard ,, Read the book.... You will get a lot of knowledge..😉
HapusYour video is good but the lack is just an example. But I want to ask, can you explain just the core that I can understand from the type of phonetics. Thanks :)
BalasHapusTypes Of Phonetic
Hapus1. Articulatory phonetics >
The study of how speech sounds are made, or articulated
2. Acoustic phonetics >
The physical properties of speech as sound waves in the air
3. Auditory phonetics >
The perception, via the ear, of speech sounds
Hello sist sri, your video is good but it's not clearly and i think your video is boring because it's shows the same thing from beginning to end..
BalasHapuswhat's the difference from your blog that is more boring? I think my blog more interesting than ur blog. Wkwkwk
HapusHi, I think the conversation between teacher and student is too long, suddenly i lose my focus on the topic and get bored.
BalasHapusjust 5 minutes u said too long? ook , next i will make video more short,, maybe just 2 minutes enough ,, to make your focus and don't get bored :)

What do you think about phonetics ( in your mind ) ?
BalasHapusIn my opinion, phonetics is a study that learn about where the sounds produced, ,
Hapuscan you give a reference from a phonetician, which states phonetics is important ??
BalasHapusPlease check the answer here ..
Hapushttps://www.quora.com/Why-do-we-study-phonetics
How much is the application of phonetic in life? (make 1%-100%)
BalasHapus100% ihsan... Because the people always produce the sound every day ,every time and Every where.
HapusCan you give me example of acoustic phonetics?
BalasHapus
HapusThe Example: when we pick the guitar then the guitar strap will vibrate, causing the air to vibrate too and there is a sound that we can hear.
your phonetic presentation doesn't make me understand.
BalasHapuscan you examlain to me again?
which part do you not understand suhaila? please your repeat again and comprehend it , or you can change it into your own language to make it easier for you to understand
